The Process….It’s What Makes Us Different

The selection process of finding a financial advisor can be intimidating. There’s much to consider when entrusting someone with your life’s savings and retirement goals. An advisor that understands your investment philosophy, retirement goals and temperament towards risk can gain more of an understanding of what you’re looking to achieve as a client. Butler Financial has done business this way for over 25 years. By encouraging candid, two-way communication that focuses on what our client desires long-term, we’ve been able to form relationships that stand the test of time. In fact, many of our clients have been with us for over two decades.

During your first meeting with Butler Financial, you will meet with our branch manager and CFP® professional., Dan Butler, who has been in the securities industry for over 30 years. He will discuss your specific financial situation in detail, including your goals and financial concerns that “keep you up at night”. Be prepared to discuss your future aspirations, how you think you can best get there and any questions or concerns that you may have with investing in general.

Following the initial meeting, our team reviews and discusses the information gathered and prepares the first step in developing a financial plan. Each plan is tailored to reflect the client’s unique financial situation, their overall goals and risk tolerance. We then enter the information into the Raymond James Proprietary Product, known as Goal Planning and Monitoring (GPM). This program can provide you with a snapshot of what is needed to move closer to your goal of a successful retirement. We then partner GPM with an additional software product called Riskalyze. This software uses a scale to measure risk in your investment portfolio. This product calculates a specific risk number to your portfolio so that you’re not investing more than you’re comfortable with.

In the second meeting, we review the probabilities of success and risk numbers generated by GPM and Riskalyze. Following thorough data evaluation, several distinctive investment models are discussed to determine the best fit for attaining the previously established goal. We also figure out how much savings and cash reserves are required, the allocation or reallocation of investments, as well as tax and estate planning issues.

Client service at Butler Financial is second to none. Our client liaisons will reconnect with you following the third meeting to answer any questions and to ensure that you can navigate our client access portal properly. You will be contacted a second time in order to maintain your comfort with the selected investment model.

Moving forward, semi-annual or annual meetings are recommended to achieve a smooth transition into retirement. During the follow up meetings, the plan is reviewed thoroughly to see if there have been any “life changes” that could impact the portfolio over the short or long-term. By doing this, we can continually monitor or edit the plan as warranted. If your last meeting was more than 3 months ago or if you’ve had a life changing moment, we would love to hear from you via email, 61k@raymondjames.com, or our Facebook page.

The projections or other information generated by Goal Planning & Monitoring regarding the likelihood of various investment outcomes are hypothetical in nature, do not reflect actual investment results and are not guarantees of future results. Results may vary with each use and over time. There is no assurance that any investment strategy will be successful. Investing involves risk and investors may incur a profit or a loss. Asset allocation and diversification do not ensure a profit or protect against a loss. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Raymond James does not provide tax or legal services. Please discuss these matters with the appropriate professional.
